Statewide Car Carriers

Statewide Car Carriers was purchased by Susan and Warren Swain in 1990, with Warren having been manager for 14 years prior.

We started with four transporters and six employees, progressively growing to a fleet of ten trucks with 15 employees and two subcontractors by 2018.

In the year 2000, Warren had a tragic accident in the depot. After a week on life support, there was no hope and we lost him. It shattered my world.

Mark, my son, had already started as one of the drivers by this time and, the day Warren passed away, assured me that Waz’s dream would be kept alive.

Statewide has always operated with honesty and reliability as its core values. All our work comes from long-standing return customers and positive referrals by word of mouth.

In January 2016, we were devastated by a fire which tore through all our sheds. Our workshop, equipment and precious race cars were all burnt to the ground.

Mark worked tirelessly to restore Statewide to its former glory, while I fought the insurance company all the way.

In February 2016 Mark went into hospital for major surgery. Devastatingly, he was diagnosed with a terminal cancer.

He fought so hard and pursued his motorsport until the very end. I am sure in saying that Mark was loved and respected by everyone that knew him, he was a true legend.

The car club meant everything to Mark and I will do my best to ensure Statewide continues to support this great club.

Early on Mother’s Day 2017, Mark lost his courageous battle. Again, words could not describe my anguish.

I am doing my utmost to carry on Statewide Car Carriers with pride and love for the two men I have lost.

This year, we take possession of two new trucks and trailers and hopefully, being a woman in a man’s world, I can make Warren and Mark proud.
